Most mineral supply in this region works one way: a price per tonne, a delivery date, and no conversation about whether the material is right for the process it is going into. The customer carries all the technical risk.
APHIS Functional Materials was built to work the other way round.
Rather than simply supplying raw materials, we work with customers to understand the application, identify the required material characteristics, select appropriate grades, validate performance and support commercial implementation. That is what turns a raw material into an application-specific solution.
The objective is not simply to increase material consumption.
Our objective is to improve performance per unit of material used.
It is an unusual thing for a supplier to say, because it works against volume. But a customer using less of our material to achieve a better result is a customer who stays — and a technical relationship worth more than a tonnage order.

Our first material platform is diatomaceous earth
DE is a naturally occurring siliceous material with a pore architecture that no manufacturing process has matched economically. That single structure is why the same mineral can clarify beer, keep fertilizer free-flowing, carry a liquid additive as a dry powder, and pretreat used cooking oil.
We source it through our partnership with Trisil International, an Australian company developing a diatomaceous earth resource in Southeast Asia.
